The Annual Christmachanukwanzakah/Festivus Gathering - December 9th

The Capital Region Atheists and Agnostics are holding its annual year-end gathering on December 9th. From the website:

The Annual Christmachanukwanzakah/Festivus Gathering*.... which we gleefully lampoon the mythical birth story of a certain Jewish zombie; enthusiastically demonstrate that the season has come to have an entirely wholesome secular meaning; feel just a little bit indignant over the attitude of some believers that they have a copyright on the good will and charity of the day; happily revel in the company of fellow rationalists, unencumbered by any need to involve a guy in the sky; joyfully share reports of little kids' cuteness, big kids' accomplishments and impending travels; thoughtfully reflect on the past year's victories, defeats and passages; plot the coming year' adventures and conquests; and, oh yeah, have beers and dinner with some of our very best friends.

You know the drill. 5:30 at the bar, to our table upstairs at 6. There's an office party occupying the private room till 6, and it might not have been ready for us till 7. I told the good folks at Brown's to set us up on the landing at the top of the stairs, just outside the room. We'll be fine.

* not to be confused with The Annual Heathens Greetings and Chinese Food Gathering held on or about Christmas Eve.

Thursday, December 9th, at 5:30 P.M.
