The Annual Christmahanakwanzakah Pub Gathering - December 20th
Submitted by admin on Mon, 12/12/2011 - 15:13
Rationalists of all stripes are invited to this seasonal celebration! Organizer Rick says:
...in which some of us might actually wish each other Merry Christmas, not because we share the dominant religionists' delusions, but because we recognize that the season, and all it's trappings, have come to have a broadly shared and recognized secular meaning, with roots far pre-dating the common era. This is time to celebrate home and family, enduring friendships and shared values and heritage; the time to reflect on the trial and and triumphs of the past year and plot the coming year's adventures. Christians have no copyright on these sentiments, and since we have them in abundance in our growing community, we should, of course, make merry together. So come and lift a glass with your friends, and tell Bill O'Reilly to go eff himself. I'll make the sit-down for seven, to give a little extra time for arrival. Gather at the bar at six in our Electric City other home, returned to now by popular demand.
