Third Annual 'Pirates and Pasta' dinner! - September 19th
The CRAA has once again organized its annual celebration of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. This unusual event, beloved by many, is best described in the words of this year's organizer, Mike:
G'yarrrr, mateys! It be September again, and ye know what that means: the day of our annual Pirates and Pasta smorgasbord approaches!
"But cap'n," I hear ye moanin', "what have pirates to do with atheism?" By Blackbeard's boots, yer a scurvy dog! As any loyal Pastafarian knows, as the number of pirates has plummeted, global warming has been on th' move... so to fight this scourge, we must recoup our seafarin' numbers! An' therefore, me hearties, all things pirate be holy and sacred to the Flying Spaghetti Monster (may 'is noodly appendage be forever sauced).
And now, without further ado...
On Wednesday, September 19 - International Talk Like a Pirate Day - we'll be having our third annual "Pirates and Pasta" dinner at the Macaroni Grill in Colonie. According to the Gospel of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the world needs more pirates, since history shows a noticeable correlation between worsening climate change and a lower number of pirates. Why dress up as pirates? Why have pasta? Who cares! Put on your finest pirate garb, hoist anchor, and join your fellow heathens in a silly celebration for celebration's sake.
Reservations have been made for up to 20 people, but if we get more, I can just call ahead the day before to let them know.
Need to brush up on your pirate lingo beforehand? I've got you covered. Just head on over to http://is.gd/arrmateys .
Avast, ye lubbers!
